Hawes Side Academy joined forces with pupils from other local schools on Wednesday morning to add to the ‘Snowdrop trail’ in Stanley Park, Blackpool.
The event, organised by Donna’s Dream House and The Snowdrop centre, was set up to extend the flowering season at Stanley Park and enhance the gardens to create a snowdrop trail for everyone to enjoy.
Planting the trail, which is situated by the lake, was an excellent opportunity for our pupils to learn more about gardening and engage with both their peers and the local community. For some of the pupils involved, planting bulbs was a brand new experience but proved to be very enjoyable.
We are proud that our pupils had the opportunity to take part in such a worthy cause and look forward to visiting the park when the snowdrops are in flower to show our pupils what they have and can achieve.
The academy would like to thank Donna’s Dream House and The Snowdrop centre for the invitation to join in the event and Friends of Stanley Park for their hospitality on the day.
