Foundation had the best day today at Ridgeway Farm! The sun was shining, and the children were full of excitement as they set off for our day of farm fun.
On arrival, they got to feed lots of the animals, including sheep, goats, ponies, donkeys, and alpacas. The children loved getting up close to the animals and learning all about them. They also enjoyed playing in the orchard, running around, exploring, and even driving toy tractors!
Farmer Helen spoke to them about the differences between pets and farm animals, explaining what each animal does on the farm and how to take care of them. The children got to stroke a rabbit and a guinea pig, and even saw ducks and their ducklings.
They had a lovely picnic lunch outside in the sunshine, sitting at the tables and chatting with their friends.
To end their amazing day, they had the chance to feed the baby lambs—a truly special experience.
It was a long day and the children were tired on the way back to school, but it was absolutely worth it for such a wonderful experience.
A huge thank you to everyone who helped make it happen!
