Year 1 have had a very busy few weeks of learning.
The children have been scientists and have been learning about parts of the plants and also looking at the difference between deciduous and evergreen trees and how plants change as they grow.
How do things move? Year 1 can tell you because in Design Technology they have started to explore mechanisms. Using sliders and levers they have made their own moving pictures.
Year 1 also like to explore and in their Geography lessons have been out and about on the school grounds spotting physical and human features. The children have a good understanding of the differences and that essential human features are 'manmade' such as buildings, infrastructure, transport. Physical features they can recognise as forests, woodland, beaches - the wonderful things nature creates.
In addition to geographical features the children have been mastering positional language to talk about where these different features are around the grounds.
Keep up all your enthusiasm for learning year 1, it is truly infectious!
